# requests.exceptions.HTTPError: 429 Client Error: Too Many Requests

Hi team. From yesterday, we have been seeing 429 errors when trying to access different models.

One example:  
File “/usr/local/lib/python3.8/site-packages/requests/models.py”, line 1024, in raise\_for\_status  
raise HTTPError(http\_error\_msg, response=self)  
requests.exceptions.HTTPError: 429 Client Error: Too Many Requests for url: [https://huggingface.co/meta-llama/Meta-Llama-](https://huggingface.co/meta-llama/Meta-Llama-)  
3-8B/resolve/main/config.json

If it appears in all models, it may be overused. If it’s on some models, maybe it’s too popular and overloaded. If it’s an account-by-account glitch, it’s troublesome.

This happens on all models. Is this rate limiting based on ip or user account?

It depends your login status.
