Respect
As with any other LLM, a public release of an LLM is always a gift from humanity back to humanity. But what is cool about grok-1, not only it's the biggest open source model around, but it's also actually open source. Apache-2.0 is very permissive, which opens lots of doors for this LLM to be used for public service.
Shoutout to Mr. Musk for agreeing that foundation models shouldn't be proprietary products.
